I found this nifty scroll frame at the craft store. This piece is so much larger than the last and will be handled much more. I think this frame will help keep the linen from getting so wrinkled and frayed; and will protect the stitching. I do hope it won't be too clunky to work with.

Now if you'll excuse me, my little dog has been waiting so very IMPATIENTLY while I fiddled with my new toy and he's ready to play.

All finished!

Well, with the grid any way.
I stitched the grid all in black using a stem or outlining stitch (I think).
The silky thread I tried at first didn't behave well at all, so I pulled it out and started again with black cotton floss. That worked much better!

I will finish my 39 squares this week hopefully and since the grid
is now complete I can jump right into counting my blessings!

Well the grid is drawn out. I plan to sew the grid this time before I begin the countdown. The water and Q-tips are for making my mistakes disappear. Darn good thing I didn't use a pencil! You may notice the two 5x5 and three 2x5 spaces. I won't share my plans for those just yet, since they're changing by the day. I'll be working on this for some time though and want to make it extra special. I'm not sure how long it will take to sew this grid and I am indecisive about what colour to use black or dark brown... I really want to start today! So maybe I'll take it tonight to do while I wait on the boys at scouts.
That is if I can choose colour...
